Summary: Researchers demonstrated periodic polar vortices inside lead-free barium strontium titanate superlattices grown directly onto silicon substrates. Generating stable topological ferroelectric textures without toxic lead on standard silicon wafers provides semiconductor foundries immediate fabrication path toward ultra-dense ferroelectric logic devices, non-volatile memory architectures, and low-power neuromorphic computing microchips.
