"volume expansion (>300%) leading to Si pulverization, electrode capacity fading fast, is overcome using eco-friendly carboxylic acid–based cross-linked poly(vinyl alcohol)– malonic acid water-soluble polymeric binder prepared through PVA and MA polymerization... included hydroxyl groups and ester bonds enhanced mechanics/ adhesion... when also containing 10 wt %MA exhibited 3558 mAh/g initial capacity, maintaining 2267 mAh/g after 100 cycles at 0.3 C rate... sustainable Si sources"
