"static/ non-flexible limitation of metasurfaces overcome employing single layer liquid crystals, which change their properties under electric field enabling polarization and amplitude to be controlled independently at different positions... potential applications are vast in field of optics: requires no complex fabrication, readily integrated into existing AR, display (higher resolution) and video projection, information encryption (complex, dynamic holograms difficult to replicate), and metasurface applications"
