"A University of Oxford spin-out has confirmed that it has achieved fusion. Projectile fusion technique is faster and cheaper than traditional approaches. It uses a hyper-velocity gas gun to launch a projectile at fusion fuel. As the fuel is hit, it accelerates to 156,586mph, creating a pulse of fusion energy. According to the firm, it has spent less than £45 million to achieve fusion"
