Semiconductor gallium nitride offers remarkable potential in photonic quantum chips
"low-cost manufacturing, more compact and rugged... grew 2D GaN on sapphire layer, etched 120 nm ring in film allowing light particles from laser beams to travel around ring... fed IR into film, some light particles trapped becoming resonant in pairs, entangled quantum light source wavelengths 25.6 to 100 nm carrying information... all-on-chip quantum photonic ICs... GaN also useful for making other components of a quantum circuit, including pump laser, light particle detectors"
