Scientists thread rows of metal atoms into nanofiber bundles

"threaded indium metal atoms in between individual fibers in bundles of transition metal chalcogenide nanofibers... rows of atoms made way in between fibers to create nanostructure via intercalation... could be made to become superconductor... vacuum at 500°C indium metal atoms became intercalated... individual bundles behave like metal conducting electricity, behaving slightly different than bulk batches of bundled nanofibers, in that the intercalated rows caused each nanofiber to rotate slightly about its axis"
