Researchers develop novel terahertz phase modulator based on NGO single crystals

"When temperature of NdGaO3 (NGO) single crystalswas increased from 100 to 400 K, terahertz phase shift reaches ～94°... phase shifts for each crystal orientation showed linear proportional... achieved active modulation of terahertz phase: laser illumination could efficiently induce a noticeable terahertz shift. With  light fluenc fluence 20 J/cm2,  terahertz shift ～78° achieved with good manipulation stability. By changing light fluence, multi-state terahertz phase shift achieved"
