"producing steady, fast stream single photons, enabling photonic-based for quantum computing and networking... at room temperature in way that lends itself to mass-production of CMOS... using defects in certain 2D semiconductor materials, removing a bit of material to create defect... shine light (generated by a laser) onto right kind of defect, emits single photons one every three to five nanoseconds... defect on the 2D material must be placed in the waveguides with extreme precision"
